Ho Chi Minh

I wish I had time to update on the past 5 days but we have either been asleep or getting out of the house to explore.

Day 1.
After a 7 hour wait at Bangkok airport we took a short flight to meet Sorana at Ho Chi Minh airport, I felt so tired but too excited to sleep, instead we walked to a great seafood restaurant in Thao Dien (district 2) and met some of Sorana's friends, Anna, Amy and James. After many hours of chatting and catching up the total bill of $15 for all the seafood we could eat and all the beers we could drink was absolutely insane.

Day 2.
It is still taking a while to get used to the heat, Steve and I woke up late and took a taxi into the first district to visit the War Remnants Museum, it was a very harrowing experience but I was curious to learn more about what had happened. After we went in search for someplace to eat and ended up in a place a few minutes walk away from the museum, I thought it would be nice to get a 'light dinner' and ordered a beef hotpot in which the waitress cooked for us on the table- super tasty stuff but way too much. Leaving with full tummies we wandered into the backpacker district to meet Sorana and her friends for some cocktails and a silly dance at Lush nightclub. Some very bad music and dance moves ensued.

Oslo day 2

Today started off with a lazy morning - which was very much needed after such a hectic couple of last weeks in England. Oh how good it feels not to have to wake up at 6am!

It still hasn't really hit me yet that we have two months of traveling before finally moving over to Melbourne, it feels so surreal yet wonderful and I'm so excited for the rest of the adventure.

We decided to follow the Akerselva river a long to explore the area of Grünerløkka , a new artsy neighbourhood transformed from a rundown industrial district. We knew we found the area when we were greeted with a giant phalic swan and lots of street art amongst an array of industrial studios. We stopped for a coffee at Blå before heading over to the Munch Museum for the Van Gogh and Munch exhibition, just in good time as the rain started to come down very hard.

At the exhibition we picked up some post cards and decided to retreat back to the apartment to chill  after quite a long rum fuelled night. We will shortly venture around the block to Oscar's pizzeria as word on the food travel blog grape vine is they have some good and affordable pizzas for around 139,00 KR / £11

Tomorrow , Vietnam!

Oslo day 1

We arrived in Oslo super tired after a very early start but eager to explore, we dropped our bags off at the Airbnb apartment and ventured out into the very windy city.

We took a wander down to the Oslo Opera house situated in the Bjørvika neighborhood , it was truly a remarkable building to look around (you can walk on the roof!)

Later on we decided to grab a coffee with a side of hot dog and strolled around the inner city,  which proved to be just as architecturally stunning. Mighty expensive so pressing our faces against shop windows was fine enough.

Being the smart kids that we are, we brought a bottle of Rum before arriving to Norway to drink after our strong diet of flatbread feta and hummus for the day. Which we didn't accidentally drink it all in one night..  (◠﹏◠✿)
